2008 HealthGrades Awards

Saint Joseph Hospital is proud to announce that it was ranked among the top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals for cardiology services, coronary interventional procedures and treatment of stroke by HealthGrades.

In addition, HealthGrades gave Saint Joseph Hospital five-star ratings, the highest level, in 12 clinical areas - including cardiology services; coronary interventional procedures; treatment of heart attack, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and stroke; overall critical care; hip fracture repair; pulmonary services; and treatment of community acquired pneumonia, GI bleed and sepsis.

The evaluation by HealthGrades, an independent health care ratings company, calculated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates. Hospitals were assigned a 1-star (poor), 3-star (as expected), or 5-star (best) quality rating for 28 diagnoses and procedures from heart failure to hip replacement to pneumonia.
